Stephen Stanko is a convicted murderer who gained notoriety for the brutal slaying of 74-year-old retired school teacher Henry Turner in 2005. Stanko was also convicted of sexually assaulting Turner's 46-year-old wife before ultimately killing her husband.
Stanko's criminal history dates back to the early 1980s, with multiple arrests for various charges including burglary, assault, and drug offenses. He was serving time in a South Carolina prison for a 1996 armed robbery conviction when he committed the murders.
After a high-profile trial, Stanko was convicted of the murders in 2006 and sentenced to death. He remains on death row in South Carolina, awaiting execution.
